Pharmacy First Service

Our pharmacists are now equipped to provide advice & treatment including prescription medicines, where appropriate, for six common conditions

What is Pharmacy First?

The Pharmacy First scheme is an NHS initiative designed to offer professional healthcare advice and treatment for six common illnesses through your online pharmacy.

Pharmacy FIRST allows you to avoid long wait at your GP or in A&E if you are suffering from: Impetigo, Infected Insect Bites, Shingles, Sinusitis, Sore Throat and Urinary Tract Infection in women.

We can often provide you with the same treatment you get from a GP or A&E.

Pharmacy First is an easily accessible service to receive support, advice and if neccessary, medication for the common conditions listed above.

How Pharmacy First can help you

Pharmacy First provides easy access to prompt advice and treatment including prescription medicines, where appropriate, for six common conditions. Here is the list of common conditions covered alongside the age criteria:

Please note other eligibility criteria apply. If you are outside of the criteria a pharmacist may still be able to provide advice and care such as suggesting an over-the-counter treatment or if required refer you to another healthcare provider.

How to access Pharmacy First

You may also be referred by an NHS provider, like NHS 111, or your GP practice. Access to treatment as part of the NHS Pharmacy First service is subject to a suitability assessment with a pharmacist and charges may apply.
